Wired to Win Showing at Union Station February 9th

Française des Jeux riders Baden Cooke and Jimmy Casper are the main protagonists of "Wired to Win: Surviving the Tour de France," an IMAX film scheduled to play in Kansas City’s Union Station IMAX Theater. The Sunflower to Roses folks will host a showing and party on February 9th. Sean Jackson of STR invites the cycling community to come down enjoy some food, wine, company and a post showing guest speaker.  The 45-minute film, produced by Partners HealthCare, was shot during the 2003 Tour de France and focuses on the interaction of the human brain with the body in extremely strenuous circumstances.

"Wired" analyses how the human body adapts to high-stakes physical endeavour and gives a perfect view from inside the three-week race, which saw Casper calling it quits after a mass crash and Cooke finally taking the Green jersey on the Champs Elysées.

Join your Local Cycling pals for an evening of fun on February 4th. Shindig planning is underway…stay tuned for details. The Saturday showing coincides with the opening of a travelling Smithsonian exhibit showcasing sports record breakers…look for a familiar yellow jersey among the items on display.
