This weekend riders from around the region will be in Kansas City for the 45th Annual Tour of Kansas City bike race.
A number of our readers have written to express concern over the condition of Saturday's Cliff Drive circuit. Race Director Pete Greig wants to let folks know that the venue should be ready for racers by the weekend. An area contractor has been delayed for a variety of reasons, but will be moving pallets, materials and finishing paving this week. Mr. Greig is also encouraging racers who haven't preregistered to take advantage of that opportunity to avoid race day lines. With nearly 500 racers expected, that's a good idea.
