We have some sad news to pass on, Scott Smith of the Blue River Bicycle Club died after a training ride on Thursday night of an apparent heart attack. Scott was a good friend to many in the racing community. There is a tribute here on the BRBC page.

The Discovery Team night at the Trek Bicycle Store of KC benefited two worthy local organizations:   Headstrong for Jake and The Major Taylor Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Dan Hansen presents the proceeds.      

Chris Locke and fellow promoters have banded together to produce a six race local cyclocross series. In addition to individual race prizelists there will be overall awards. Wow! Big crowds and top racers. Kansas City hits it big with the first stage of the Tour of Missouri. We'll have lots and lots more photos tomorrow from the event.

 The big hitters are here for tomorrow's Stage One of The Tour of Missouri. The Plaza will be a prime spot to watch the action, with beer gardens and Health and Fitness Expo, but Parkville is ready with cowbells; and those looking for different vantage points will head to Meyer Circle or Downtown.  

The KS Category Time Trial State Championship is Sunday Sep 30th in Walnut, KS. The race begins at noon to take advantage of the cool September temps.
