Lots of activity starting midweek. On Wednesday there's a Kids only event in Leavenworth (for free). We found the flyer for Thursday racing in Lawrence (the Twilight Series). For the offroadies, it's the first ever mountain bike race at Shawnee Mission Park . Plus two days of racing at the Sunflower State Games.

Two area juniors, Garrick Valverde and Alex Edwards competed along with their St. Louis based Mesa Cycling Racing Team mates in the 49th annual Fitchburg Longsjo Classic in Fitchburg MA.  The race was held from July 3 to the 6th. Just in: Harold (Dean) Parker toook 5th at the USAC Masters National Time Trial Championship in his age group today.

Sunday offers an excellent chance to test your road race skills on the classic Baldwin City Road Race course. While only offering one event, rather than a stage race this year, it should be enought to get your heart rate up. More info at our friends over at www.kcbike.com
