23mm tires? The Death Ride? Perry-Roubaix? Gravel riding and racing continues to grow and evolve. But riding rough road has a long history in Kansas City and nearby. We’ll explore.
Before much of the world was paved, cyclists were riding.
Even after much of the cycling world was looking for smoother surface, there were cyclists looking for the unpaved.
Sure, cyclocross was about that, but that was a niche of a niche. Plenty of riders saw a gravel or dirt road as just that …. a road.
We’ll add some area history soon, but in the meantime, Gravel is getting it’s own Hall of Fame.
