From the promoter, here’s the skinny on the weekend’s Omnium:
We hope to see you at this year’s 2nd Annual Macomb Cuarto de Mayo Omnium Road Race and Time Trial benefiting the Macomb School athletic program. This year’s edition will provide another great day of hilly, old school racing on scenic, good quality, rural roads. Macomb is only 45 minutes southeast of downtown Oklahoma City. The TT incorporates segments of the infamous Tribbey Time Trial and the RR includes portions of the reknown 89er Stage Race and the Sacred Heart Road Race.
Since the race is old school, you can leave your TT bikes, TT helmets, aero bars and disc wheels in the garage. As we used to do back in the day, throw on your racing wheels and bring your trainers for the wheel truck.
We’ve added a Cat 5 Omnium category this year with a sweet five-deep prize list provided by area bike shops. All categories will have separate prize lists for the TT, RR and Omnium Overall. Larry Smith of the Bicycle Shoppe in Shawnee is also providing $250 bonuses for the fastest female and fastest male TTs. Thanks Larry!
Check out the flyer or the event facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/585181728163754/ for more race and contact info.
You’ll find TT and RR maps and profiles at www.pedalerscycling.com.
TT start times are assigned in order of registration so go ahead a pre-register at USACycling (at no additional charge) to get a preferred.
Again, we hope to see you in downtown Macomb next Saturday!
