“This weekend’s TOKC races marks the debut of Kansas City’s women-only racing team, The Roasterie Flyers. The team is comprised of three partners: The Roasterie Air Roasted Coffee Company, Kansas City’s newest cycling nonprofit, Revolve, and Family Bicycles, LLC. The team will field 6 racers across two races this weekend in Cat 4/Beginner and Cat 4 catagories. The roster of the Roasterie Flyers holds some promising talent for both road and CX racing: Lt. Col. Kristin Goodwin, Robyn Burky, Venasa Ray, Jill Ducey, Rebecca Gorrell, Cheryl Wah and Team Captain, Elizabeth Bejan. The team will host a women’s Crit Clinic in early August conducted by the team’s Pro Advisor, Kelly Fisher-Benjamin, current racer for the women’s Colavita/Baci professional team. More details on that event to follow. Check out the team’s hot racing kit designed by Jeanne Barnhill of amgrafx. A kit will be offered in the near future to the public in the orange color found on some Roasterie packaging. Those interested in purchasing the public kit contact Elizabeth at info@revolvekc.org.”
