The 7th edition of this epic race is just around the corner. We hope you all have been enjoying this heat, it is prefect prep for the pleasure and pain that this event brings. This a reminder of the dirt festivities occurring Saturday, August 18th, 2007 at Landahl Park Reserve in Independence. The trails are groomed and ready for some knobby good times.

KANSAS CITY, MO.
1. REGISTRATION: Day of event registration runs from 9:30am till 11:30am.
2. The Race starts promptly at NOON.
3. CAMPING and PIT SET-UP: You will be able to start setting up your PIT AREA/CAMPING AREA starting Friday evening. Please don't be space hogs. The PIT AREA/CAMPING AREA will be marked off. Set-up your area within these markings. We will have volunteers assisting you in your location. Camping will be available after the event on Saturday night. So come prepared to hang out under the stars. The park Gates will close at NOON on Sunday.
4. WATER: Your best bet is always to bring your own water. But in the event that you don't, we will have water available on site.
5. LEMANS STYLE START: The Race will start with a Le-Mans style run. Yup, the first member of each team will HAVE to do a short run before they hop on their bikes.
6. In addition to prizes awarded to the top three in each class we are offering up some supa sweet swag for the following:
1: Fastest Overall lap
2: Fastest Night lap
3: Fastest Women's Lap

XTERRA 5K & 10K Trail Run

Do you want PAIN? You want tough TERRAIN? Well? You have found it! Welcome to The Pain Terrain. This hilly, rocky course will test your Pain Threshold to the fullest extent! The mountain bikers call it one of the toughest courses in the Midwest. Runners will set off bright and early to beat the summer heat and humidity. It is a guaranteed tough day for the fittest of the fit, runners may choose from a 5K or 10K distance. Hydrate well; you are going to need it!!! Good Luck.

WHEN: Saturday, August 18th.
WHERE: Landahl Park Reserve. Independence, MO.
DIRECTIONS:
Take I-70 either West from St. Louis until you reach 7 highway at Blue Springs. Turn North on 7-Hwy go approximately 4.0 miles until you reach Truman road (MO FF/E), turn East (right) for approximately 2.1 miles until you reach William Landahl Park Reserve on the right side of the road. Turn in where you see the Race Today signs.

6:00pm 6 HR Finishing Racers begin to log-off the course.. Awards ceremony will begin apx. at 7:15pm.
Midnight 12 HR Finishing Racers begin to log-off the course. Awards ceremony will begin apx. at 1:15am
MISC / COURSE INFO
The race starts at NOON with a Lemans style run and finishes at 6:00 pm for the 6 hr race and Midnight for the 6 hr race. Placing is determined by the number of laps completed in the allotted time. For more detailed rules see our website.
To be eligible for the finisher t-shirt, riders must personally ride at least 2 laps.
We promise that the course will be challenging, fast, and above all else FUN. That is guaranteed. The average lap time will be around 55 minutes with plenty of double-track and the usual Landahl gems thrown in. It will be very simialr to the 2006 and 2005 courses with the exception that you won't be coming back down to the event site at around the mid-way point.
The trails at Landahl are fairly technical trails w/ rocks and mostly short-up climbs. The course will be apx a 9.5 mile loop containing a mix of double track, flowy single track, and technical single track.
