Promoters Meeting

The Kansas Cycling Association is calling a meeting of area promoters this weekend to iron out next year's event schedule. Click on the 'read more' below for details from Roger Lomshek:

The KCA will hold a 2009 race calendar meeting Oct 26th at 5 PM after the Smithville cross race. Please RSVP before Oct 19th to Sherri Hahn Sherri.Hahn@huschblackwell.com so we can get a headcount. The KCA is buying food for the meeting. This meeting is open to race promoters only.

The meeting will be held at Ponak's Mexican Kitchen 2856 SW Blvd. KC, MO 64108. Sherri has reserved a private meeting room so we can settle the
2009 racing schedule in a couple hours of discussion. KCA will pay for attendees meal and soft drinks, booze is on you if you want it. You may order off the regular menu. We do not need to know what you will eat in advance.

In order to establish a framework I will compile a list of planned events ahead of time so we can minimize wasted time. Email me roger@tailwindcyclists.com the dates of your 2009 events asap for compilation of a preliminary calendar. We will work off that for finalization at the meeting and have a calendar ready to publish before the end of the year.

I encourage anyone interested in promoting a race in Kansas to be there.
If you do not attend we will settle the schedule without you and you may then get left over dates that are available. Email me now (RFN) with the dates you hope to have an event in 2009, I will set up a preliminary calendar for distribution before the meeting so we can all have a heads up.

If it is absolutely impossible to attend in person you may appoint an attendee to be your proxy. If you have no friends in the world you may call in to a conference call line (info below) and get your date established (plan on being on the phone for a while and you're on your own for food).

Conference call info:
Call in at 6:00 PM (we will eat at 5 PM) Dial-in Number is 712-432-0600 Access Code is 711213#

Our goal is not to "steal" traditional dates but we must do a better job of settling the calendar early to minimize confusion. Curtis & I probably got a few hundred emails in the first few months of 2008 asking when some race was going to be.

See you at Smithville,

Roger Lomshek
