NRC Debut

So I am writing in from rainy San Francisco trying to stay dry out here in the ocean that is now the city. 27 days of rain in a row or something crazy like that! So I kicked off the 06 season with my new team last weekend down in Ojai, ca. and it went pretty good actually for our first try at racing together. The race was a pretty typical nark crit with lots of attacking and a generally high pace. No breaks ended up sticking but we covered them all none the less and the race eventually ended in a field sprint. I took eighth so that’s not too bad. Not great but I can live with a top ten in my first NRC race – for now. That’s just my nature, never satisfied! The team performed well and is ready to work out all the kinks before tackling sea otter this weekend in Monterey. I have to give a special thanks to all the boys at bike source for really helping me out last week before I left, I would have been s.o.l without Dave, Jeff and mark coming through for me – thank you very much! I know I promised the podium but we were very close – next weekend! Ok, now off to train in the rain – fenders, caps, plastic bags and all! kb
