The localcycling.com team has spotted a couple of fresh (to most) cool places to indulge in tasty two wheel fun.

May 22nd, from 10:00-2:00, Epic Bike and Sport will host a Specialized bicycle demo event at the Stocksdale and Walnut Woods Mountain Bike Trails. “With trails from beginner to technical, this is the perfect place to come test ride some of the fastest bikes available. The demo trailer will have a variety of bikes including women’s specific full suspension.” Yes, road bikes will be available also.
Another great venue is almost up and running just outside of Lawrence. 3KM of groomed year-round cyclocross course AND a 333m grass velodrome. There are a few details to be worked out (this is private land), it won’t be long before the facility will be hosting events. Expect some track racing days in June leading up to the State Championship in July. The newsdesk understands that two of the upcoming season’s cyclocross races will be held at the site. Stay tuned.
