Just a quick note to wish you a happy holiday season from all of us at the Missouri Bicycle Federation. Hope you're having a good one!
To help you while away the hours over the holiday week, we've posted a Holiday Puzzler. Can you solve it? I'll post my answer after New Years.

THANK YOU to all of you who have joined, renewed, and donated toward our current $15,000 challenge grant fund raising drive. Your generosity is really mindboggling. Current situation:
237 towards goal of 300 new/renewing members by Jan 31st
$9016 towards $15,000 challenge grant, deadline Jan 31st
With your help, we're going to get there. If you've been putting it off, you can join/renew/donate online at:
With your help, in in partnership with bicycle and pedestrian organizations and many other allies across the state, here are some of the major things we have been able to accomplish this year:
1. New MoDOT bicycle and pedestrian policies adopted. Not perfect, but *by far* the best they've ever been.
2. MoDOT rumble strip policy finally adopted. Again, not perfect but far, far better than it would have been without bicyclist input.
3. MoDOT bike-safe drain grate policy finally (mostly) adopted and in the manuals.
4. Major input into MoDOT's new Long-Range plan.
5. Adoption of Missouri's first-ever strategic plan for bicycling and walking.
6. Kept the "Complete Katy Trail" alive in the minds of state leaders–connections are moving forward on several fronts.
7. Tour of Missouri–with its new, higher UCI rating, set to be one of the top 3 pro bicycle tours in the U.S. in 2007 and beyond.
8. Ongoing representation of the needs of bicyclists in the Missouri legislature.
9. Progress in Missouri's new Safe Routes to School program–developing the future generation of bicyclists & pedestrians.
10. Focused citizen feedback on bicyclist and pedestrian needs in many specific projects across the state–often with very good results. And we are developing the capability to do this much more easily and effectively, all across the state.
And with your help, we have developed a strong, stable, powerful organization to represent bicyclists and pedestrians in MIssouri. We have a vision of where we need to go and a way to get us there.
Thanks once again for all your support throughout the year–it really does make a difference.
Hope you have a great new year!
