It’s Good to be Queen

This is a great weekend to be a female cyclist in Kansas City!  Roger Harrison’s “Woo Hoo Girlies Criterium” is the perfect place for a first race, or a best of the season race.  The day kicks off with some training tips from Nicole Freedman, former Olympic cyclist and current Boston cycling coordinator.

Nicole is here thanks to a grant from the Nike Let Her Play foundation obtained through the Kansas Cycling Association (Thank you, Sherry Hahn!)  She’ll speak at the Venue at 9:00 AM.  Racing begins at 11:00, the final race kicks off at 3:00.

A new venue for this year’s event, the Richard W. Warren Middle School in Leavenworth promises a safe and interesting course for racers and spectators alike.

There’ll be lots of primes (mid race prizes) and great prizes, massage on site and showers, too. Plan to spend the day if you can.

Guys, you can’t race this one, but we’d love to have you come watch and cheer!
