This time ’round there really is some construction that will alter the course of the Wednesday Night Hill Ride. Beginning this evening there will be a third ‘big’ hill: a return to the climb up Renner Road to the Shawnee Mission Park entrance.
For those who are familiar with the last 3 weeks of this ride, the rollout will be the same: North on Nieman, up and over the refurbished Holiday Drive Hill going West all the way to Woodland. At Woodland the ride heads South to Johnson Drive, then heads East. Here’s tonight’s change: Instead of starting up the Johnson Dr. Hill that begins at Barker Rd. turn South on Barker (just like the Scooters Ride). Proceed to 64th Terrace and turn left up a fresh new climb. After the first ‘bump’ there’s another left turn onto 64th St that takes riders to the summit. Right turn (South) on Lind to 66th Terrace, left turn down to the bottom of the hill and Midland.
At Midland turn Left (carefully, it’s the same as last year, you gotta look!) and proceed to Renner. Climb that monster to 79th and turn East. Return to start is identical to last year’s version of the ride (79th to Lackman to Midland to 67th).
Ride starts at Bates City BBQ, 65th and Quiviara leaving promptly at 6:30PM.
