Down Under

Well hello everyone,  just writing in here from Australia to give you all a little taste of some international racing. I am here in Geelong for the Geelong women’s tour and the first round of the World Cup races.

I have been down here for a week training in the hot sun and getting my body used to being on the other side of the world but the racing is finally here as it starts tomorrow with a tt and a crit. The Aussies are flying at the moment so the race is sure to be very hard and fast and a sure shock to my system since i haven’t raced since september. It should be good though as i have been out in cali training for over a month so we’ll see how it goes – i just have to keep reminding myself that i am only here for training but it’s still hard to race when you aren’t at your peak, ya know!

it’s been great fun hanging out here at the beach and hooking up with my old pal from perth so i can’t complain too much. after the first day we will do a circuit race and then a point to point rr and then have one day off and race the world cup.

I will let you know how the first days of racing go tomorrow. try to stay warm there in kc and i will do my best to make you all proud!!!!

cheers, Kelly Benjamin
