Cyclocross Update 10/3

The season opening ‘zomer cross’ event, the fast and furious S2R is over and cyclocross is in full swing. Promter Chris Locke and some teammates ventured to Iowa this past weekend. Find a write up here at the Cowtown site. This weekend features Toto Cross in Wichita. Promoter Ron Wade has designed a challenging course at the site of an old Soapbox Derby track. Kansas won’t feel flat.

Here are the current published race flyers for a full season of fun. Download, print and put ’em on the refrigerator door:

Toto Cross
Chris Cross
Boulevard Cup
6th Annual Riverside Cyclocross Festival
Veterans Cross
KLM
Missouri Cyclocross Champs
Kansas Cyclocross Champs

Expect a flyer soon for Sunflower Cross in Lawrence. Note that several area races have banded together to form the Maxxis Series: Boulevard Cup, KLM, Channel One (Nebraska), Jingle Cross (Iowa) and The Grote Prijs Shawnee.

Following the state championship races, many riders will be heading to Providence RI for the USCF National Championships. For 2007 and 2008 the Nationals return to Kansas City! The last race on the local calendar (Grote Prijs Shawnee) serves as the finale for the Maxxis Series, but also as a tune up to riders heading off to Belgium for the UCI World Masters Championships in Mol. Riders interested in sand, beer and 12th century cathedrals can hook up with the localcycling news team for a partially guided trip. Give us a shout as the cool accomadations (100meters from the start line) are limited.
