Lots of cyclocross on the schedule: This weekend a brand new race in Manahattan, Barnyard Cross (and of course a goodly number of locals will be in Oregon for Nationals, including 2 time silver medalist Dean Parker).
December 31st, bring your party hats for the second edition of ‘Cross Off The Old Year. The race will be held at Stump Park in Shawnee, a fresh venue for cyclocross with some great features. A few days later it’s Epic Holiday Cyclocross in the Northland with lots of brick road and twisty fun.
Next up is the Grote Prijs Shawnee, January 10th, with euro village setting, heated regsitration and bathrooms AND the traditional noisy party. This is the final round of Series60CX: LOTS of awards to be given, plenty of races left if you want to move up!
The final events on the schedule for local riders are the UCI Masters Worlds in Mol, Belgium and the The UCI Cyclocross World Champs in Tabor, CZ. The Masters group has at least 5 racers and several supporters on board, while slots for locals in the U23 and Junior events will likely be determined at this weekend’s Nationals in Bend.
Will there be racing in the KC Metro in February? Rumors at the moment. While cyclocross isn’t really a year round sport, February is still part of the International calendar. Stay tuned.
