There are still a few road events sprinkled around the metro and region left in the season, but the buzz is about cyclocross.
A short hike to Wichita will give you an early ‘fix’ for your CX habit on Sept. 11th and 12th.
Closer to home are a series of clinics in Lawrence (starting 9/7) and Shawnee (starting 9/8). Both offer several weeks of skills and drills.

The kickoff race for the KC Metro is on 9/18: The KC Cup Cross, opening round of Series60CX.
Our newsdesk has it on good authority that there will not be a DeStad Series this year, but individual races will still be happening on the orginal scheduled dates. Stay tuned.

“(kcbike.com) and Director Sportif Monte May are looking to put together a bike(s) for cross to lend out to juniors – we have one frame – open to others but in smaller sizes. Here is what we are looking for
1. wheels – round and heavy/sturdy 2. Rear derailleur 3. handlebar and stem 4. rear cassette – think dinner plate
5. shifters – road/bar end/mtn bike doesn’t really matter 6. Brakes 7. Smaller size frames 8. Tires
