Breakthrough Tour

KCBike.com, Inc., Operation Breakthrough, and SKC Communications presents the First Annual Breakthrough Tour of Kansas City being held June 26 – 28, 2009.  This event features a Friday evening criterium near Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit (Men Pro 1-2, 3, and 4), a Saturday afternoon/evening criterium (all categories) in beautiful downtown Lee’s Summit, and a Sunday morning/afternoon criterium (all categories) next to the Kansas City Power & Light district in downtown Kansas City, MO. 
 
There is also a Family Fun Ride on Sunday morning with 5-mile and 25-mile ride options through Kansas City, MO. 

The Sunday events take place next to the Downtown Art Festival.  The Art Festival is a free weekend-long event, with a Noon start time on Sunday.  For more info about the art festival visit www.artfestival.com/events/visitorsShow/19

There will be FREE kid’s activities (jumping tents) available at every race venue throughout the weekend.  There will also be FREE kid’s bicycle/tricycle races on the race course during the Saturday and Sunday events.  The Saturday kid’s race in downtown Lee’s Summit will start at 5:10pm and the Sunday kid’s race in downtown KCMO will start at 11:30am near 14th and Wyandotte.  Distances will vary by age.  Parents will need to register kids at least 30 minutes prior to the event start time.
 
All net proceeds will benefit Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City, MO.  The mission of Operation Breakthrough is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment.
