Mike Berning sends this press release:
Boulevard Cup Cyclocross to Headline Weekend of Racing in Kansas City
The Kansas City area cyclocross season kicks into high gear on the weekend of October 27/28. Saturday features the inaugural Governor’s Cup Cyclocross in Topeka, Kansas. Presented in partnership with the Sunflower State Games, the event will feature a course with a strong European flavor and activities for the whole family.
Sunday marks the return of the Boulevard Cup Cyclocross to be held at Wyandotte County Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Race directors Mike Berning and Gregg Rupp have partnered with Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing, the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest for an event that epitomizes the cyclocross spirit: hard racing and good times. Their motto is “Throw a great party and have a bike race break out!” Hearty food, live music, huge raffle, all washed down with plenty of Boulevard beer guarantee that the party will happen.
This year’s race will give riders the opportunity to preview the course for the Cyclocross National Championships to be held in Kansas City December 13 – 16. (www.kccrossnationals.com) “We’re honored to be associated with this year’s National championships” says Berning. “This course reflects Gregg’s vast amount of course and trail design experience, along with his sense of humor. It takes full advantage of the rolling terrain in the area and will provide plenty of challenge along with features that are sure to put a smile on your face.”
