On July 15th we will have the 5th Annual DICE 40K Time Trial Championships…formerly known as the QCBC Championships. The venue is the same as in the past and that is in Cordova, IL. This is the normal out and back course, pancake flat with one turn at Meredosia Road that takes you to the turn-around. See map here… www.DiceTraining.com. Click on 'read more' for the full scoop:
For the Juniors, we will be doing a 20K and having a different turn-around than for the 40K. If the Junior wants to do the 40K, please note that for registration. This year rather than using the park shelter right off of Rt. 84 S and 157th Ave N, we will be using the Cordova Civic Center right behind the park. So, please use the parking lot and change clothes and register in the Civic Center. We will also be holding the awards ceremony in the air-conditioned reception hall. Registration opens at 7:45am and the first rider will go out at 9:01am. Registration will also CLOSE at that time, so please show up early! If you are planning on doing two rides…PLEASE pre-register as we would like to have the last rider go out by 10:45am or so. We only have the hall until 1pm…so please help us out. If you have a pre-reg number for your second run, we reserve the right to move your second start time up as to not have any gaps in the timing to make the scoring go much smoother than the 20K did. It was my first time running a Time Trial and I learned a few lessons. To make registration run smoother, we have also included the ABR waiver here… www.DiceTraining.com please print clearly, sign the waiver, and don’t forget to put your age and what category you will be entering. If you are doing two runs, please do TWO separate waivers with different racing categories. Also, don’t forget to tell us what race you want first. For the awards, we will be using the MATTS Medallions for all age categories and they will go five deep. We will also have a Tandem and Recumbent category, so bring them fast machines to see where you stack up. For the QCBC members, we will have trophies for the top ten in both genders and we will have trophies for the top three over all for each male and female. This time you will only receive one trophy or medal…one of the other lessons learned. Let’s keep it fair for everyone and reward him or her for their efforts. If you need a hotel or B & B, or would like to find a good restaurant please visit the Quad Cities Convention & Visitor’s Bureau web site at www.visitquadcities.com.
See you there!
