Coming up this Sunday is the Lansing Daze Women's Only Criterium by Roger Harrison. Roger has sent some words:
"I can not stress to you all that this is a first for Kansas, Kansas Cycling, and Women.
Lansing DAZE Criterium will be the first Women ONLY Criterium. No matter the numbers the race will go on, I want this event to succeed because Women are an intergrel part of racing and this world.
Why Women Only! Because I watched my wife struggle to be better than all to break the "glass ceiling" in her field, I watched young female riders just disappear out of the program, and I see elite local female riders doing well but we need them to mentor these young ladies. We also need a place for Masters Women. Not everyone likes to compete with men, look at the attendance at women only fitness facilities!"
I am hoping that this year's prize money will double by next year per event. I want this event to draw the beginner as well as the pro.
Most of the primes are from the LAC, because it is my way of contributing to the Cancer fight.
$5.00 per entrant will go to the Lansing Museum Fund.
$1.00 for each entrant at this race is for Eldon Roush. Additionally, G man has designed a T shirt specific for this race and we are selling them for $10.00 with the proceeds also being given to the fund for Eldon.
