This a reminder of the dirt festivities occurring next weekend,  Sunday April 29th, 2007 at Perry Lake State Park in Perry, KS.  The trails are groomed and ready for some knobby good times.  Here's to mother nature being kind and showing us some sunshine.  All the info you need can be found below. 

As you know, we have had to postpone the first two HMBCS races due to substandard racin conditions.  The new dates have been set, so mark your calendars.  Here is the REVISED 2007 HMBCS schedule:

WHEN:  Sunday, April 29th, 2007.  We race Rain or Shine.  Should the weather take a turn for the worse, please check our website regarding race status.

 WHERE:  Perry Lake State Park in Perry, KS.   DIRECTIONS:From the east take highway 24 west from Lawrence to Highway 237. (There is a large sign for Perry State Park.)  Turn right (north) and go 4 miles.  Cross the bridge, look for the trailhead sign in the State Park across the road from the marina. From the west take Highway 24 east from Topeka 8 miles to Highway 237 and turn north on 237 and proceed as stated above.  Turn in where you see the "Race Today" sign.__________________________________________ SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for Sunday, April 29th: 9:30am  Race Day registration opens.11:30am  Registration closes.  11:45am  Racer meeting.     NOON       And they're off!  2:00pm  Kids Race2:30pm  Awards ceremony 

COURSE INFO for Sunday, April 29th:

 General info: Perry race course is fairly fast with lots of big ring riding and then some fairly rocky/technical with mostly short-up climbs and descents to challenge riders technical skills.   Beginner/first-timer (BLUE course) Course—> 5 mile lap with100% fast single track trail with just a few small rocky outcroppings.   One respectable climb per lap otherwise with gentle grades both up and down with a few small steeps.  Course consists of Skyline, and the 2 new entry level loops Willow's loop and Knothead. Current conditions: —> perfect.  The course is dry and fast. Length—> 5 miles (apx)   Just For Fun = TBAJunior women= 2 lapsJunior men= 2 lapsBeginner women= 2 lapsBeginner men= 2 laps  Sport/expert (ORANGE course): Course—> We use 1st 4 miles of the beginner course then take the more technical 2 1/2 miles of Great White and 1 mile fast and flat Wild West to the finish.  There are 3 respectable climbs per lap.  60/40% mix of wide fast easy single track and more challenging traditional mid-west single track with plenty of rock exposure.   Current conditions: —> perfect.  The course is dry and fast. Length—> 7.5 miles (apx)   Sport women= 2 lapsClydesdale/Singlespeed/Sport men= 2 lapsExpert women= 2 laps

Expert men= 3 laps
