A few quick reminders from the Kansas City Office of the Missouri Bicycle Federation:
The AIDS Bicycle Challenge, Kansas City, Saturday, Oct 7th
—————————————————————————
The AIDS Challenge is a MoBikeFed Advocacy Event–a small part of each registration goes back to support bicycle advocacy in our region. I hope you’ll support this event that supports bicycling in Kansas City:
Kansas City River Crossings Public Meeting Tuesday, Oct 10th
——————————————————————————–
In response to YOUR many requests, we have been working with MoDOT to identify options for creating our first safe bicycle/pedestrian river crossing. MoDOT has committed to funding one option and leaving other good options on the table for possible future funding.
But now we need your help to make sure we are on the right track.
We have really been studying the issues and now understand some things that are important to understanding the best options for a bike/ped crossing–Paseo, Heart of America, ASB Railroad, or a brand new bike/ped bridge.
Time: Tuesday, October 10, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Place: Mid-America Regional Council’s offices, 600 Broadway, downtown Kansas City
Format: Open House. Come, chat, ask questions, leave comments.
I’ll be there the whole time as one of the representatives of the River Crossings Study "Core Group", so please come and talk to me (and the others from MoDOT, MARC, Kansas City, etc.) and let us know what you think.
We’ve worked hard to let MoDOT know that lots of people care about this–so having a good turnout at this meeting is really important to reinforce this to MoDOT. If you want a good, safe Missouri River Crossing that meets the needs of all users, now is the time to stand up and be counted.
Don’t Forget BikeMO, MoBikeFed’s Fall Foliage Ride, Oct 14th
