Diamond Blackfan Anemia Fundraiser

Local racer, Tige Lamb has a very direct connection to this charity: His daughter Amelia has been diagnosed. Read below for excerpts from the Lamb families letter:

"All of you are asked frequently to donate to charity events….Thankfully most of those organizations have the benefit of being well known and well funded. Today we are asking you to help fund a foundation dedicated to researching an extremely rare disease that recieves not public attention or national appeal The disease is Diamond Blackfan Anemia.
To honor Amelia and raise money for the DBAF, we are doing a century bicycle ride taking place on September 9th near Tulsa OK. We will be riding 100 miles in one day and will be training for several months to prepare. Our inspiration is our daughter Amelia. At 2 years old, she has endured more in her short life than we can ever imagine…blood transfusions, hostpital stays, countles numbers of IV’s and needle sticks….
If you are interested in donating ot this worthy cause please contact a manager at the Trek Bicycle Store of Kansas City for details. All monies raised through this event will be used to help fund research to better understand DBA, find new treatments and ultimately find a cure.
