Sedalia Criterium

The official name of this second year event is the Sedalia Historic District Maxxis Criterium, but lots of folks refer to it as the Pro-Velo Crit after race promoter Ebby Norman’s bicycle shop. All categories had good turnouts despite threatning heavy weather in the area. 4/5’s were won by Matt Rahner after a group of six tangled with 7 laps to go. Jeff Chattin was first in the 40+, Lonnie Kennedy in 50+. Fastest Junior was Logan VonBokel. Womens 4 was captured by Sherrie Hahn. Juniors John Caldwell and Nolan Froese broke away from the 3/4 pack, with Caldwell taking the sprint. Kelly Benjamin and Molly Vetter-Smith rode away from the Women’s open, with Kelly handling the sprint easily. The final race of the evening featured precision team work by the Trek/VW Regional team, with Steve Tilford and Shadd Smith lapping the field.
