There’s a Field of Dreams component in ZondagCross. Donald Jonas hosted kids cyclocross development for many years in his backyard. As participation outgrew Donald’s home, the training venue moved out to Western Shawnee, but was not an easy location to host events. This year, the organization began by Jonas and supporters worked with the City of Shawnee for a permanent location. The resulting Donderdag! Park (practices are on Thursda)has been wildly successful. This weekend it was the site of a sanctioned USAC race, the appropriately named Zondag Cross.
