Now that those political winds have shifted again, by an executive order (and working with BlowingWind Sports), Governor Eric “Greeting” Greitens has announced a revived Tour de Trump for 2018. For those of you old enough to remember, the original Trump Tour was in 1989 and morphed into the Tour de Pont. This was a Big League race with so much prize money, so much.
While not a lot of concrete details have been released about the route, the press release indicated that the UCI has granted the race Pro Tour status, and in a ‘nod and a wink’ to American Flyers has already sent an invitation to Katusha Alpecin.
