The Tour of Kansas City will add another edition to it’s lengthy history this week beginning on Friday, June 21st.
A return to the Cliff Drive area (but with a decidedly flatter course) and criteriums in Lees Summit (not quite KC proper, but in the metro) offers three days of racing.
The history of the event has included long road race circuits, Pan-AM Games selection for Juniors (1982), stage race formats including time trials, and some lean years with a single ‘parking lot’ crit. BUT, the show always goes on.
This year’s edition offers good prize lists and a host of related activities centered around each race. Very spectator and family friendly, this is likely to draw big fields and plenty of spectators. OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
