So, it’s official…the season has started and with it has come my first crash. Unfortunately it just happened to be on the last lap of a very brutal world cup race. I’m ok though with just some stitches in my finger and a bruised backside.
Up until that time, the race was going great and I had put myself in the lead group of 30 or so with 6k to go when a chinese rider flipped over in front of me causing me to come crashing down on top of her.

Anyway, that’s all over and I have been racing in New Zealand at the Trust House Women’s Cycling Classic. It began with a nightime crit that was pretty comfortable and then a 100k road race and crit the next day.
The rr had a few nasty climbs in it and I ended up getting popped off the back of the lead group on the last, and longest of the climbs.
I felt good though and it was a good hard day of training with the crit less than two hours later.
Today was a tt that I skipped cause it was pouring rain and my back is hurting pretty bad. there are alot of us just hanging out at the hotel resting up for the world cup on sunday. I am pretty excited about the world cup, the circuit is all in downtown Wellington and looks to draw lots of spectators. Last year there were only 15 or so girls that finished in the lead bunch so I will have to stay on my toes all day – it is sure to be a great race.
Then back to San Fran to get some of my stuff off of my sister and finally I will be back in k.c. on the 9th. yea!!!
alright, until then, happy training!!
