The Localcycling news desk recieved this note from Kenneth Walker:
"All,
"All,
Please take a look at this link. This is a major cycling event in Kansas City and members of the Major Taylor Cycling Troop/Team Slimenundgrossen are honored to be volunteering the services of some of our youth riders. I am so excited that I will finally get to go to a theater and see a movie featuring cycling, even more, in a wonderful place like Union Station- Please come out and see this movie, support Sunflowers To Roses and MTFGKC, have a great time and learn something about the great sport of cycling
Also, two days later, Feb. 11th, 1:00pm, the Kansas City Library, at it’s Central Downtown location and MTFGKC partner to bring to the community a showing of, "Tracks of Glory" a movie focusing upon events in the life of the great cycling champion- Marshall "Major" Taylor. As we always hold our weekly group ride on Saturday at 11:30 am, (beginning at the Acme Bicycle Co., 412 E. 18th St.) we will meet for that ride, and alter it a bit so that we end up at the Downtown Library.
I know some of you want to know more about MTFGKC and also about who Major Taylor is and why we look to honor him, so come on out, ride with us, get to know us, and find out about our hero. Hope to see you!
