The cyclocross opener at Swope Park dodged the foul weather bullet that mucked up the across state Hermann ‘Cross events. Large turnouts in all the fields for the KC Cup Cyclocross is an indication of the continued growth of CX. Results and photos coming. Cool video here. And more cool video here.
Sunday’s KC Cup mountain bike race also was a go, despite some soggy trails. More to come.
Cyclocross clinics are offered this week in Lawrence (by the Renaissance folks) and Shawnee (by the KCOI/Boulevard crew). Lase week’s womens clinic at Herman Laird was nearly rained out, but still attened by a few hardy ‘crossers. Mike and Teresa are working on a reschedule.
Herman Laird Park in Shawnee is a traditional Wednesday evening venue for some training. Thru the end of October the park is booked up with kids football practice AND some construction. Watch for details on an alternative spot North of the river for kickin’ some hard workouts.
Sunday 9/26 is the next cyclocross race: Manion’s Cross. Featuring a fresh new venue as well as a cool prize list and no doubt a HUGE party post race. Here’s the blog with some additional info.
