360 Cup Press Release

Next up on the local schedule, it’s the 360 Cup in Lawrence. Here’s a press release with some fresh details:

“360 Cup” offers a new, challenging Cyclocross course

at Centennial Park, Lawrence, October 4 and 5

Lawrence:  The 360 Cup Cyclocross race will bring 300 competitors and lots of excitement to Centennial Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5.  This is the third running of the 360 Cup Cyclocross bike race in Lawrence, this year made possible by 360 Racing Club and the Lawrence Convention and Visitors Bureau.

This year’s 360 Cup course has added a few new features. The course begins on a two hundred meter paved start/finish area. It transitions onto grass with several 180 degree turns and wide, long stretches to string out the field. The course then flows around the natural contours of the park utilizing several off camber sections and some fairly strenuous inclines.

There will be 13 men’s and women’s races between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Centennial Park, 2200 E. 9th Street, northwest of The Mercantile. Each race runs from 30 to 45 minutes. There is no charge to spectators, and cyclists can register at www.usacycling.org or learn more at www.visitlawrence.com.

A free Kids’ Race for young children will be held Saturday at the conclusion of the 12:15 races.  Competitive adult races will resume at 2:00.
