Here's the info fresh from the bovine: "The Cow Town Cyclocross Series kicks off this weekend with the Chris Cross on October 14th.  Throughout the series look for some great cyclo-cross courses, fun atmosphere, great post race food/drink, custom awards and plenty of prizes/swag including race primes for each class.  One lucky winner will even come home with a Badger Custom Bicycle which will be custom made for him by Rob Pennell.

Round #1 takes place out at the popular Clinton Lake State Park.  The Dirt Works designed course has a mix of pavement, gravel roads, rollers, sand and plenty of flowing turns that will challenge everyone.  Things get underway at 9:00am with fun trail run.  The cyclo-cross racing begins at 11:00am.

Round #2: Riverside Cyclocross Festival (Day 1), Nov 4th, 2006, Riverside, MO

AIDS Bicycle Challenge to take place on Mill Creek Streamway Trail

Charity Ride Benefiting the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City
The second annual AIDS Bicycle Challenge, sponsored by the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City, will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006. This second year event will take place on the Mill Creek Streamway Trail, Shawnee, KS.  Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. and the Ride will start at 9:00 a.m.
We invite individuals and families of all skill levels to join us and exercise their hearts and bodies. Participants can choose from either a 10, 18 or 35 mile ride while enjoying one of Johnson County’s most exhilarating landscapes. In addition, all riders will receive an AIDS Bicycle Challenge t-shirt and will be invited to a post-ride celebration at one of our neighborhood restaurant sponsors.

Come join the news team at the Trek Bicycle Store of Kansas City's hundredth Monday Night Recovery Ride. This jaunt around neighborhood streets, bike paths (and sometimes backyards) is designed as a ride for all abilities. Whether weekend warrior or first time to a group ride we keep it all together at a leisurely pace. Need some recovery from the weekend hammerfest? This is the perfect way to move those toxins out of the legs. BONUS: local beermeister Mark Jilka is donating a keg of his IPA style brew for the post ride refreshments. The ride starts at 6:30 PM from the Trek Bicycle Store of KC.
