Coming up: Gravel!

Leavenworth resident, Shawn Morelli set a world record in the pursuit at the UCI Para-cyclingTrack World Championship on March 19th.

Here's the link with a some more details on this outstanding performance.

The Daylight Savings Time change brings about another round of the "Hill Ride". This challenging training ride begins at Bates City BBQ in Shawnee on Wednesdays at 6:30PM.

Expect a fast, well behaved roll out. For the first few weeks, we'll limit the fun/pain to the first two hills of the route (same as the 2015 version): Lawrence Road and Renner heading South from Midland. When the sun sets a little later we'll add the complete route.

This is not a 'no drop' ride. There will be a behavior expectation lecture before. Bring your climbing legs.

RESULTS  Perry Dam Race 1.

Lots of locals hit the gravel/mud combination at the Land Run 100 in Oklahoma. RESULTS aren't posted yet, but we do know that Amy Borkowski was the first individual finisher in the 50 miler. Andrew Strempke was the first single speed in the 100 and Katie Strempke was the first woman overall!

Here's the link to the most recent Kansas Cycling Association race calendar. Remember, it's an evolving process as races vie for dates, new events get added, and sadly some get cancelled.

We do expect the monthly Gardner Time Trials to be back for 2016. We're hearing rumors that the Perry Dam Series will happen. Of course, many of the Fall Cyclocross races will be added later. Stay tuned.

Kansas City has some very unique urban single track trails. A labor of love by Brett Shoffner and crew.

Beginning February 7th and running for every Sunday of the month, you have the opportunity for some fun racing at at several venues.

We'll have to watch trail conditions; races will be postponed if too wet.
