Keep current on the racing schedule for Oklahoma with BRAOK

Check the results for last weekend's Eucha Classic.

And if it's Tuesday: Summer Crit Training Series

Our on the scene in Tulsa reporter Rick East sends these items from BRAOK:

State Criterium Championships

Plans are being finalized but it looks very much like the state crit championships will be held in 2 races. The Category based championships will probably be the Owasso Trail Days Criterium on May 12. Then the Age Based championships will be the Sand Springs Palmer crits to be held on May 19. Plans are still being worked out but this looks like what will happen. The nice Oklahoma State Jerseys will be on the line at each of these races, so be ready. Also remember the Eucha Tough Road Classic is coming up on April 7.
  Criterium Racing Practice
Are you ready to try your skills at racing a criterium? Starting April 2nd and every Tuesday through August you will be able to do that at the Tulsa Wheelmen practice series. Then about 6:30 PM the intermediate group consisting of the cat 4 and cat 3 men as well as the cat 2 and 3 women will practice for around 40 to 45 minutes. The last sesion wil start at 7:15 PM and will involve the Cat 1 and 2 men. They will practice for 50 to 60 minutes. All riders must sign a waiver each night and have a racing license. The Tulsa Wednesday Night Ride is a 20 year (or more) tradition. Ready to roll every Wednesday night during Daylight Savings time (March - November).

While the up to 200 riders trickle in from various starting points, the main group leaves from 21st and Jackson in the River West Festival Park. Cyclists of all abilities show up for this one; BUT the front hits it hard and fast.

Tulsa Bicycle Club has route maps for the Wed Ride, as well as other resources.
